Developmental care and motor skills acquisition

  • For babies at risk of motor delay such as premature babies or babies with extended illness or chronic conditions such as cardiac issues.

  • Toddlers and children with delayed skills acquisition or balance and co-ordination difficulties.

  • Children with poor postural control, balance or stability and postural alignment.

  • For children with chronic disorders affecting motor function such as Cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, head injuries, Juvenile arthritis, Spina bifida, Down syndrome.

  • Infant orthopaedic conditions e.g. Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), Calcaneovalgus, Talipes equinovarus (TEV).

  • Brachial plexus injuries.

  • Infant head shape and neck tightness e.g. Torticollis and Plagiocephaly.

Musculoskeletal conditions

  • Growth related conditions such as apophysitis e.g. Osgood-schlatter’s disease, Sever’s disease and growing pains.

  • Gait variations such as in-toeing, toe walking, knock knees & bow legs, flat feet

  • Other musculoskeletal conditions e.g. Perthes’ Disease

  • Rehabilitation following injury e.g. fractures or sprains

Respiratory conditions

  • Education and Chest physiotherapy for chronic and acute respiratory problems e.g. Cystic fibrosis, asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis etc.

SKIP can provide services in a location that suits you.  We have clinic rooms located at Blackbird House in Caloundra.  However we are able to provide educational centre or school and home visits on request.

About us

Rosalee Dewar is a physiotherapist with over 25 years clinical experience working with infants and children and the founder of Sunshine Kids and Infants Physiotherapy (SKIP).  Rosalee is passionate about working with children and families to reach their potential and achieve their goals by delivering evidence-based therapy. 


Rosalee completed her physiotherapy undergraduate degree with honours at The University of Queensland (UQ), holds a postgraduate diploma in neurological rehabilitation (Paeds) and a PhD. She has worked as a senior physiotherapist in paediatrics both interstate and overseas, in a number of settings, from acute and neonatal intensive care to community therapy services for children 0-18 years. 

As well as her clinical roles, Rosalee teaches into the undergraduate physiotherapy course in paediatrics at UQ.  As part of the Children’s Motor Control Research Collaboration (CMCRC), Rosalee is investigating postural control assessment and intervention in children with a particular interest in children with cerebral palsy.  Rosalee has presented the results of her research and published at national and international level.  Rosalee is driven to explore research that can be translated into the clinic to improve outcomes of children receiving physiotherapy interventions.
